It had been three years since she had left in search of him. He left her on the night of her twelve birthday, probably so he wouldn't have to see a child cry. He was a pirate, but he wasn't one to be heartless. When she was younger her mother told her, "You'll never know how much you love someone until they leave your wife." Her mother was right, The child left within an hour of finding he was gone and she decided she would find him.
She took only what she thought she would need; A sweater, some under garments and a few snacks, and headed down to the port where his ship stayed docked. The Ship was gone so the child bravely looked around until she spotted a ship she could consider a 'pirate ship'. She stowed away, hiding out amoung barrels of supplies that reeked of rum.
Her first impression of the ship was that the crew was a loud bunch, some cursing with the tongues of aged sailors. They all seemed to be fairly well fed and devilishly dressed, spouting stories of sailing and women of the ports. She had giggled and that was just enough to give her away.
The man who found her was fearful in height, towering over the girl by at least three feet more. His eyes were as dark as the depths of the ocean that looked on as if they had seen years before the man had exsisted. His hair fell in tangles and dreads of dark chocolate. He was dressed differently than the others, soon she learned he was the captain of this ship.
The captain picked the child up and brought her to the mast of the ship where he set her against the wooden pole, a few laughs were shared amoung crewmates and shouts to throw the stow-away over board where yelled.  Though in the end the captain decided to keep her as a pet because of her species. After a month on the ship he decided to teach her to cook, clean, fight, and navigate the seas, training the young child to  survive.
The ship, 'Her Maiden's fowl', was her new home and the crew her family. She cared for the ship, taking the time to make sure she was in beautiful condition and her family taught her ways of mischeif and crime. She was known to lure women out onto the ship and To idly pickpocket from those in the tavern. Her appearence seemed to help as she was able to beg and not seem creepy but instead affectionate.
At the age of fourteen she saw the first real death of her crewmates and took her first life, protecting her captain. Killing was such an animalistic thing to her that her normal senses seemed to rippen when she did kill. On one occassion she had been called 'The Black Truth', because of the fact how her fur seemed to turn black when she killed and her name's meaning.  Within the year however, her captain became sick. He was dying of old age, a cruel fate he laughed and with dying breath he stated his pet would be the new captain.
With the death of her captain she decided to backdown, her only order as captain was to return her to her home.  She took only the captain's jacket and left 'The maiden's fowl' in the hands of her firstmate. She watched sadly as her home and family dissapeared out to sea but she had already made up her mind so she set out for the home she had left behind.
The day of her fifteenth birthday came and as a gift to herself she went to the port, she stood in the shallow water near the bay as she watched. In the distance where the sun set she saw a ship, it was a long shot but she waited until the ship docked. There was something familur about this ship, something she thought she'd never see again, The queen anne's revenge.
She waited, her ears pinned back and almost hidded against her sun bleached hair that swayed in the wind behind her. She was terrified to see him again, afriad he wouldn't remember her. What if he had heard the stories or could see the way her once lively silver eyes were dulled with the sight of death. She considered leaving but then she saw him and knew she was trapped.
To her, he wouldn't have changed if he had been gone seventy years. His dark hair fell in wavy tangles about his shoulders and his eyes filled with the wisdom of a mage seemed to be as magical as he was. His skin was a bit washed from the sun  and he smelled as salty sweet as the ocean around them.
She couldn't speak, her nerves drove her to the point were she wanted to cry at the sight of him. Her mind raced on thoughts like, 'I loved you, why did you leave me?' but no words could be formed.  Instead, she lightly held out her hand to him and looked away. A small smile graced his lips as he formed a piece of ice in his hands and placed it in her palm.
This is the story of how one small soul went out to find her love..
